		<description>Hi Steve,

Sounds like your relocation has worked well for you. I also like to &quot;dip in&quot; to the rat race occasionally - lovely image!

I moved out to the countryside and away from London about 10 years ago and then decided about 3 years ago that circumstances had changed sufficiently to warrant moving closer to town. We&#039;re now living on the edge of a small city (Wells, Somerset). This made it easier for my teenage sons (as they were then) to get around on their own on by public transport and for me to reduce my car use to the point where I am now ready to sell it.

So there&#039;s another point that I don&#039;t think I mentioned explicitly in the article - about changing circumstances and the need to relocate (sometimes) in order to get back on track with making our lifestyle work authentically for us.

Thanks for your comment.

		<description>Excellent post, Sally.

I read this wondering what I might find that would be different from my own experience of relocating from London into the countryside. Actually, nothing....;-)

Now we are able to run a successful business in a lovely part of the world and, when we choose, dip into the rat-race for a day or two before shifting back out to a more peaceful way of life.

The key, it seems, is to make your lifestyle work authentically for you....
