10 Steps to Cultivate Peace of Mind

21st September is an International Day of Peace and I’d like to mark the event on this blog by sharing some tips on cultivating peace of mind. Do feel free to add yours too in the comments box. Here’s a video to inspire us:

1.    Start the day with calm reflection and a peaceful intention.
2.    Have a media fast.
3.    Focus on the three G’s – Giving, Gratitude and Grace.
4.    Speak only when necessary and keep it concise.
5.    Eat peacefully – in silence, in appreciative and nourishing relationship with your food.
6.    Get out in nature for an unhurried but invigorating walk.
7.    Apologise – to yourself and others.
8.    Forgive – yourself and others.
9.    Listen deeply and unconditionally to at least one other.
10.    Work mindfully, with care and attention.

What will you do to mark this International Day of Peace?

Pass it on…

Your email only arrived today so I missed 21st September Peace Day – however, sitting for a few minutes to read your blog and watch the video has proved to be a great way to end a busy week and prepare for the weekend.
I shall use your 10 steps to develop a calmer approach to a full life.
    Thank you.

David – As it happens, the blog was the result of me stopping after a period of busy-ness and disharmony and asking myself:”Is it really necessary to be rushing around and fussing like this?”. Then I noticed that the International Day of Peace was coming up and it pulled me up short. Great to know that by sharing that it helped you prepare for your weekend.

  3. Going for a walk in nature is well worth fitting into each day so we can go back to our source. I like to do it no matter what the weather is like because it’s all a natural part of life.

Going on a media fast once in a while is great for the spirit too. Also frees up lots of time to think. :)

    Thanks for sharing!
