You might remember the Rising Water project and initiative driven by Ian Mowll which is all about hearing people’s personal stories of flooding – one result of unpredictable weather conditions- and downshifting. Ian believes that by listening to other people’s experiences, we can more easily make the connection between our everyday actions and the effects on our environment. Ian also says that “by listening to people’s positive experiences of downshifting, we can learn that combating climate change can be a rewarding experience, leading to a more fulfilled life. This is because downshifting can result in reduced carbon emissions and therefore a lifestyle that has less impact on the climate.”
